About RIG Technology
RIG Technology is a division of RIG Systems, providing technical rescue solutions to industry, the Emergency Services and the military. RIG delivers internationally accredited access and rescue focussed training, consultancy and equipment for work at depth, at height, in water and around collapsed structure environments.
Our Customers
Our customers are typically from the public services or industry and like us are very circumspect about the safety critical technology they invest in. To embrace this latest technology matched with unsurpassed performance quality, RIG source products from nearly a hundred different equipment manufacturers from around the globe. Often, we supply equipment and training solution combinations to clients, which means our training team is not bound by any manufacturers' products and has first hand experience of virtually everything you see online.
Our Products
Before we choose to stock a product our technical team undertake extensive field tests to ensure it meets our strict performance standards. This process equips our technicians with first hand experience of the entire product range assuring you no-nonsense first hand advice. In order to remain a market leader in this field, RIG is the exclusive distributor for a number of cutting edge manufacturers including:
- CMC
- Cross Line
- Rock Exotica
- Oceanid
- Life-Safer
- Sterling Ropes
Where required by European Directives, equipment is CE marked and type tested. If you need help to navigate through this maze of regulations, standards and directives, our sales team are well placed to ensure you select products most suitable for the intended purpose.
Our Training
Our parent company RIG Systems is one of the leading technical rescue training providers in the UK. RIG is an accredited training centre for the Royal Yachting Association, Industrial Roped Access Trade Association, the International Rescue Instructor's Authority (IRIA) and the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health.
Our training centre exceeds the quality standards stipulated by BS8454:2006 Code of practice for the delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue. In addition, we are proud to meet the strict international standards set by IRIA; this means our training solutions are:
- Client task and risk focussed and not off the shelf training packages
- Independently audited and externally quality assured
- Competence based not attendance focussed
- Independently assessed
Our Facilities
We regularly train over 1000 students every year in swiftwater, confined space and rope rescue techniques. Our programmes are portable meaning we can deliver "in business" solutions; alternatively our training facility includes access to masts, towers, poles, mine shafts, steel structures, high rise buildings, crags, vessels and class 2-3 water.
